Ferris Ellis, CEO & Principal Engineer
As the leader of Urban Dynamics, Ferris brings a broad background across the technology industry. His prior roles include being the technical lead for a global service at Apple, delivering custom solutions at Brocade Networks, and being a sustainable data center advocate at InfraPrime. He’s been a speaker at StrangeLoop, Data Center World, and Data Center Dynamics and received Infrastructure Mason’s “Emerging Talent” award in 2022. He often describes his career as “being responsible for the things that can’t go down”.
Casper Beyer, Server-Side Engineer
With an impressive background in server-side software, Casper has consistently helped clients realize that you can always improve performance. A veteran of the open source world, Casper has been a core contributor for the Deno Javascript runtime, NATS Rust client, and other well loved projects. His toolbox ranges across Rust, Deno, C, C++, Typescript, WASM, Linux I/O, eBPF, and more. When not cranking out high performance solutions, you’ll likely find him training others in the ways of Rust and Linux system programming.
Dimitar Dimitrov, Full Stack Engineer
If you ever wondered what the software engineer equivalent of a Swiss Army Knife would be like, look no further than Dimitar. A “jack of many trades” — plus a master of a few more — he always seems to have the tools and skills needed to work on whatever the task at hand is. From React.js web services to Rust tooling to C# enterprise systems and so much more, the breadth of his skillset is only matched by his sense of team work and humor. It also doesn’t hurt that brings 15 years of experience at ADNOC Group, ALROWAD IT Solutions, Emirates Computers, and more.
Matt Benson, DevOps & Cloud Engineer
As the lead engineer for DevOps & Cloud work at Urban Dynamics, Matt has a proven track record in solving architectural problems at enterprise scale. He brings an impressive consulting and contracting background, having done work for Google, Willetts Technology, and other businesses. With a Masters in Computer science, a diverse background in technology infrastructure, and an a personal server lab including things like a baremetal Kubernetes cluster, Matt brings the experience needed to build complex systems.
Tayyab Nawaz, Project Management
Delivering great technical solutions is just as much a human process as a technical one and there’s no one better equipped for the task than Tayyaba. With over a decade of experience guiding teams to accomplish great results at enterprise companies like Ibex and Colliers, she brings the calm and steadfast demeanor required for teams to succeed when facing great challenges. Plus, her experience with Product Ownership allows her to engage across business teams when planning work efforts.
Josh Miller, Front-End Engineer
We have yet to meet an engineer more passionate than Josh about building elegant web applications. As one of the first team members at Urban Dynamics, he’s been helping us bring robust web applications to live for a plethora of projects. While well versed in much of the vast world of UI technology, he has a deep love for Vue.js, Vite, Vitest, Pinia, and writing automated tests for everything. Josh’s background as being a one-stop-shop for high visibility business websites that surprise and delight visitors help him keep customer and user experience at the core of everything he does.
